Bob Mould was the band leader for 80's Punk Icon's Husker Du and went on to form Sugar in the 90s after Husker Du failed to break into the mainstream. Although never achieving huge commercial success Husker Du's influence can be seen in late 80s and 90s indie rock bands like The Pixies, Nirvana, Green Day, and The Foo Fighters. Sugar's debut album was named album of the year by the NME in 1992. Bob Mould has released solo albums since 1988, and refocused on his solo career after the break up of Sugar in 1995. After taking a brief detour into electronic music (2002's 'Modulate') Mould has since focused on similar efforts to his 1989 masterpiece 'Workbook', having released his best album in ten years in 2008 with District Line. 2009 will see the quick follow up to that success with a new album in early April, which he will be supporting at this performance.
